s-----l I'm sure I have seen it answered as sundail, but cannot see why!

Raise Cain = Rain + as ice and is a know saying re. creating trouble

Re. Sundial - at the moment your guess as to how they came up with this, is as good as mine, unfortunately.

Bedside table - possibly they mean a table/plinth by the side of the flower beds where the sundial is placed.

That would be incredibly tenuous, but I suppose they have been coming up with a few like that at the moment....
