Car insurance NCB reduced by 3 yrs?
Friend had 5 years NCB made car theft claim and his insurers have reduced his NCB by 3 yrs down to only 2 yrs NCB- i thought they only took a year off -or is it different for a theft claim?

If a driver has the maximum number of NCB years allowed, and it is their first accident, some insurers may not take away all the discount. Instead, they may 'step it back' and reduce the NCB from 5 years to 2 years. So it is worth checking with the insurer to find out their policy on NCB before buying cover with that company.
