Negative scanners - any good?
3 Answers
Am looking to buy one to scan in my wedding photos, have heard mixed reports re the quality and as I plan to do album of photos the quality has to be good! Jessops charge 10 per 36 negs so is worth buying the scanner if it works! Also need one compatible with Mac and PC. Any thoughts.......

no scanner will give you a finished article - you'll always need (or at least want) to tickle it up
Mine's a HP - used mainly for "photocopying" and OCR - it's got a good negative carrier ... but to scan in at high resolution takes ages - then there are the inevitable hairs, scratches, you have to be able to use a photo editor...
it depends how hands on you want to be
jessops may charge ... but .....
