I am having problems getting my pc to open applications. When I click on the program it often takes a few mins to execute the command. Anybody know of any remedies for this problem or do I have to reboot my entire pc?

Try deleting your internet cache, your temporary files and then do a defrag:

Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Defragment.

Reboot and see if that helps.

Delete the contents of the Prefetch folder found inside the Windows folder.

If you're not regularly running anti-virus and anti-spyware you ought to do so.

Defragging is all well and good but if it really is taking minutes to execute a command you may well find that your computer is doing a lot more than you thought behind your back.

Another one is the old...Ctrl Alt Delete, just look at what you have running and then Start>Run>msconfig and de-select what runs at boot. By looking at this:-

You can see if it's needed to run windows.

(Sorry watching TV) Meant to add, the cause may be the PC is at it's max, relieving it of some un-needed programs will help regardless......Now back to the TV!
