While you're here lass, can I ask a question about Coco? Did you clip his nails yourself? Both my 'tiels need theirs doing, but I'm worried that the stress will finish them off (they are both at least 13 years old and are not used to being handled).

mrschappie - if they are used to being handled and are comfortable in a close grip, you can do it yourself.

If you're nervous of doing it, probably be a lot easier for the vet to do it.

I had all my birds from a very young age and always handled them a lot, so I never worried about doing it.

Thing is, Ethel, they are not used to being handled at all - not by me or a vet. And with them being quite old, I am worried about the stress element of having their nails clipped.
