My cat had her kittens 6 weeks ago and has been acting very strange for the past 3 weeks or so.
She is yelling all the time and we now catch her pinning her kittens down by the neck. She bites their neck and they struggle for breath. She even hissed at one today, and she doesn't eat her own food - only the kittens food.
She was a very good mother, never left the box and always fed them. What do i do? Should i be worried?

I think she's weaned them.....wants the bairns 'to leave home'!

You'll know the feeling one day.
Try separating her from the kittens for a while. Put her in another room and give her some time on her own. She is, as Terambulan says getting tired of them as they are now almost weaned.
You shouldn't be worried. This is normal behaviour. At 6-7 weeks the kittens are ready to go to new homes. Ive seen the biting of the necks it's strange but normal as they pick them up & carry them this way, they usually lick them clean once they have them pinned down this way. Try to get them new homes as soon as.
