What eyeshadow and mascara goes with grey/green eyes

My eyes are grey/green and set far apart (i think) i hate them and know how to create the look of closer together eyes but not what colour would compliment them, at the minute i wear smokey grey eyeshadow along the lash line and black eyeliner with black mascara, but it looks harsh, cos i'm fair skinned, What colours would make my eyes stand out and look natural?

I've got green eyes and find browns look nice, theres an eyeshadow in the avon book called true colour sueded nude (I think) which has four complementry colours in and on the casing shows you where on the lids to put the different shades, also i use brown (very dark) eyeliner and brown/black mascara.

I have green eyes and fair skin and find that green liner looks nice. I also use plum liner, or grey - but never black as it makes your eyes look smaller!
I wear a lighter contrasting eyeshadow such as a lilac with the plum or grey liners.
Gold or brown or green shadows with the green liner.
Whenever I wear green liner and a lighter green shadow/pencil along the upper eyelid line I get compliments.
Always with lashings of black mascara!!!!
