Advice on a hot water problem?

I have a Alpha 240eco combination boiler for my sins. I seem to have no problems in the winter when the heating is on. However when the spring comes and we no longer need the heating on I have problem with getting hot water unless I turn the heating back on. Any ideas what might be wrong?

I had this problem with my Worcester combi boiler - turned out to be the diverter valve that needed replacing.
