I pay my very nice lady 8 per hour and extra for horrible occasional jobs
Hi Patricia, at least 6.00.
Hi Ethel, that's very fair of you Ethel! That's Manchester University rate too! xxx
the going rate round here is around 6 - 7 an hour. But we are a backwards county.
I''ve had my lady some years and can trust her implicitly - that is worth more than money.

Without her I would probably be in sheltered housing :(
Ethel, yes it is worth every penny! You need to trust the person in your home completely! xxx

The cleaner is for my niece who had a baby in july and she wants a cleaner to help her out so she has quality time with baby when she goes back to work rather than having to do the housework , her partner is lovely and helps out with all the housework jobs (shel be going back 3/4 time instead of full time ) , and the cleaner to be is my sister in law so can be trusted completely

Thanks for all your answers x
depends what area ..about 8 or 9 pound i do house cleaning and have been paid 9 ...
like sleepyj says i think it really does depend on the area you live in.
i actually do cleaning for a living, i get 10 an hour, i have however been with my ladies for nearly four years and it really is a matter of trust.
you are lucky to know the person well as a member of the family.
good luck
