Replacement seatbelt

Being charged �200 for a new seatbelt for the middle backseat in a vauxhall corsa - is this right? It seems quite a lot of money for a seatbelt!

yes,it is a lot,try ebay,or go to a breakers yard

Thanks Normanthedog. No time for that! MOT is on Friday so probably wouldn't get it by then and have no idea how to fit it etc. Are you saying its a rip off then?

would the car pass the M.O.T. without the belt fitted ??
i think the law states that "if its fitted, it must be in good working order".
not sure how the law stands if you remove the belt.

Garages have us over a barrell. Mine wanted to charge me �20 to replace a side light when I already had a spare. I refused and it took me 15 minutes to do it. The3y also wanted to charge �50 to fit new wiper blades! Again I refused.
However, as you point out, time and knowledge are needed for your job and if you don't have these commodities, you'll have to fork oput i@m afraid!

I think it would fail funkymoped as it would have a seatbelt missing (see link)

I woul have thought on this if the car was not fitted with one from new then it does not need one as the car seat was for two people am I right

Hi again CAJ1, If I am correct in my answer type in 247 car spares they will then look up a scrappie in the UK that will find one for you.

Thanks for the advice but unfortunatly it was fitted with one from new so it needs replaced. It is a back seat for 3 people and its the middle one that is broken. MOT this morning so fingers crossed it passes!
