if you have a dry tickly cough which doesn't produce any phlegm, pholcodeine linctus is very good at suppressing your desire to cough. Very cheap - ask for it at pharmacy counter.

A tablespoonful of runny honey, a teaspoonful of lemon juice and some warm water. Stir well and drink. You ,ay want to vary the quantities to your taste.

Try my old Grannie's cure.
Take a teaspoon full of butter, dip it in the sugar bowl,
Let it melt in the mouth.
It sounds horrible but it works.
