I can't sing. Flat as a pancake.

When I was little the teacher asked me to pretend to sing as I was putting all the other children off. :(

I did learn to play the piano and a few wind instruments, but being tone deaf meant I could never play guitar or violin - I wouldn't know if it sounded right or not.

Strangely, I do love music and my inability to sing has never hampered my enjoyment - just marred others when I can't resist 'singing' along.

Of course, this is something that can't be rectified no matter how much time and effort is devoted to improvement.

Have you any big regrets that can't be rectified?

Yes i have Ethel, i cannot understand how to drive a manual car, i passed my test in an automatic mini in 1974 and ever since i have wondered how on earth so many people cope with changing gear. It is related to my inability to sing i have always believed lol

Oh! Another flat voice. :)

I can drive all right, but I don't particularly enjoy it any more.

You missed out on the glory days of driving - empty roads, free parking anywhere....
I think I must have been able to sing when younger , now I don't have the breath for it and sound awful if I try , but I was in the choir , on stage in a musical at school , and in the church choir . Not sure if it's a regret really but I have never been able to whistle ...lol
My biggest regret, was having a fear of water Ethel.

I didn't learn to swim until I was 28 years of age, but since then have learned how to dive in, swim under water, etc., so have well & truly made up for lost time. You can't keep me out of the pool now!

Having said that, I class myself as a competent driver & have gone on to do quite a few things I'm proud of, certainly not singing, but whistling with my two little fingers - really loud. Also teaching our granddaughters & their friends the Macarena. lol

It's not what you can't do - it's what you can do!
Hi dot & bigmamma too. -x-
P.S. I was in the school choir, but my friend & me got chucked off the stage once for giggling too much. We were rehearsing & singing Silent Night in German. That couldn't be rectified, but I can still remember the words to it though!

I can't understand a fear of water, but what a great achievement to have conquered it. :)
Oh , hello smudge honey , you're braver than me , I have a fear of the water and have never learned to swim . :-(
I used to sing in choirs, shows and such a lot but not for a while now and keep meaning to join a choir my friend is trying to get me to join up to.

I wish I'd learned to drive sooner. I passed my theory test last week (wahay!!!) and have a driving lesson booked this week (anyone in Manchester may want to stay off the roads).

I wish I'd travelled more and made more use of holidays in the past though am making up for it now.

Just back from Cork after a lovely weekend with the girlies on a hen do :)
