What about "sailor follows household rubbish" - lumberjack but cannot work it out.

Lumber is household rubbish and jack is jack tar - a sailor

Sonyme thanks. Looked up "lumber"in dictionaries on line and it never relates to household rubbish - just wood.
Dictionary definition after wood etc - ''miscellaneous useless articles that are stored or put away.''.
