lost warrantee

Hi

I bought some Carmen Hair straighteners a couple of weeks ago. I put the warrantee in a safe place and now can't remember where I put it. Would my receipt (proof of purchase) cover me if anything were to go wrong with them?

The warranty is in addition to your statutory rights so you can always claim under the Sales of Goods Act with your receipt if necessary.

I think reciept is proof of purchase and most electrical goods have that little bit of paper with warranty on it . Me thinks that if annything goes wrong with hair straightners the shop has a duty of care to replace under sale of goods act

Yes your receipt should be enough. I have had electrical goods replaced without a receipt either, apparently companies can tell from the serial number when and where it was purchased!
