im due to get replacement windows on weds but during the survey i changed my mind about glass design,this didnt cause any hassle and i was told it would go onto the home loan i had agreed to for the windows.it was an extra �300 but now the company saying i cant change orriginal loan details and have to have the cash or cheque ready for weds!!!!i have tried to argue my point that if i had known this that no way would i have went ahead.i now feel conned...what can i do?all suggestions really welcome,thanks.

Get yourself to a citizens advice bureau. Apart from this you can certainly delay the windows - get them to agree in writing to your demand before the glass goes in. You had verbal agreement that the money will be added so this is your starting point. However they may make every effort to cause you problems so you need to see if you can cancel the windows and if you can not (they obviously had to spend money making them for your property) see what the penalty is. Apart from this though I would say that you should cancel the appointment until you work things out. When you speak to them on the phone try to tape record it if possible just in case they get aggressive - they will try everything I am sure to get the job done on the day, even turn up anyway, so be prepared. Sorry this may not help that much but it may depend on what you have signed and what effect the person who told you about it being OK to add the money, had on the agreement.

thanks for the advice,i,ll give them an assertive call now in the mrng and see what can be done and keep you informed....ps,the windows are fine,it was the pane of glass in the new door that the problem,ordered plain then changed mind to patterned!!!think its maybe wee bit common prob with us women!
