Land of - better change your tune now
Milk and - oh so negative
Honey - and we're so content now
Land of - Land of Milk and Honey
And you never even know when it's standing right before you
I'm still looking for a place unfortunately Doc... But I'll look for a rent that's not disproportionate to the property I take. Perhaps that council should have done the same.
As to letting them all come. I think we're still waiting for more information on the family as so far all we've had is guess work and speculation. Hope your knee doesn't jerk right out of its socket though.
why is everyone having a go at the woman? its the councils management of the situation, the council can use private landlords to help ease the housing waiting list, if the landlord supports Dss lettings and the benefits service are willing to pay an amount of the rent then that is it.
the family in question have had their needs assessed and the council have obviously determined that they need a house large enough for their needs, since most social housing has dwindled there only option was to house them in the 7 bed property.
There was a story not long back about a massive english family who had a big house and lived on benefits. As I recall that went down a treat too but with less veiled racism.
Damn right Doc. spock, Wouldn't that be refreshing.
I would love to stay, however I'm now off to work so that "I" can pay my bills, for my house that "I" bought with my hard earned money. And to enable me to feed my child with the food "I" bought, on the plates that "I" bought on the kitchen table that "I" (funnily enough) bought............and so it goes on.
It is interesting that everyone is up in arms about this woman 'taking' from the council and the UK and living in the 'lap of luxury'...BUT...has anyone considered just HOW she may ACTUALLY be living...cazzzz mentioned the upkeep of the house. What of basics like FOOD. The council is providing a shelter-nothing more. This family is still living in an area that under normal circumstances would be well beyond their means...I doubt there is a pound shop or lidl within walking distance. Why does everyone ASSUME they have not or wil not contribute anything to the economy here. Sometimes the attitudes I see towards immigrants and asylum seekers make me sick. As someone said .....'walk in their shoes' , before you judge.
Why don't some of you guys also post on the News Topic? I would like some of your support, there are too many Yogurt eating, Sandal Wearing liberals on "News"
This sounds like a family who will make a contribution to our country once they are settled, probably a lot more than some of the whingers on here. The housing situation is not their fault, they have been given what was available and suitable for their needs. As for sending them up north, the only people who would benefit from that are all the racists on here, who feel the need to punish this woman and her children.
