I posted this in "Word Origins" but it's a bit quiet over there. Lots of tumbleweed rolling past.

So ... are there any Spanish linguists please ?

In Spanish, what is the difference between...

... Vinedo and Bodega ?

Thank you.

Bodega is a wine shop (usually an old one), viedo is a vineyard.

Fab, thank you very much for your help.

I think your answer explains my confusion.

So a vinedo could have a bodega?

I love the bodega. The one I used was at the winery where all the local vineyard (vinedo) owners took their grapes to sell.

There would always be lots of bottles to be sampled - and you took your own 5 and 10 litre plastic containers to buy the wine straight from the vat. Fabby.

That sounds great, Ethel.
Ah yes Ethel - such memories, when I moved here (Spain) in 1971, we used to buy wine and sherry from the barrel. Very cheap and very potent. Little old cave like bodegas, not many left now.
Neti youd love the place i saw advertised for rent here

4 bed in la escalona in the hills , with all water and electric included with smalll piece of land with trees.
rent

only 500 euros a month .

500 a month? that's incredible, A small studio goes for that here. I am looking to move to the mainland, but somewhere Spanish with not a lot of Brits (if any) - it's so much cheaper on the mainland!
