my husband has never in 5 years had a lunch break, and is very pressured to hit targets intead of resting. Anyway, the working time regulations say that he should get at least 20 minutes break. I have read that the employer should arrange the times of the break, but if the employer refuses to when asked, can you just take it upon yourself to stop working for 20 minutes?

The union rep apparently has not helped. My husband wants to go to tribunural but is this going to make him a target for the future?

It defies belief that someone wouldn't take a lunch break for 5 years - what kind of job does he do?
Question Author
he drives a van, not quite the delivery thing but has so many jobs to do a day that HAVE to be done there simply is'nt enough time in the day.

he has grinned and bared it for so long because its well paid and cannot find anything elsewhere to match salary wise. Ive also pushed him over the years, as at least he has a job and a rough finish time. Yet if he started to insist on a lunch break that would just be added on to the end of the day as i said the same jobs need doing.
