I'm not a great lover of fillet steak and when I cook at home I always buy rump as I think it has more flavour, as well as being cheaper.
If your partner won't eat the rib eye, I have nothing planned for my tea tonight........

I have found the best way to enhance a good well marbled fillet steak is to pan fry in beef dripping, and be sure to cook it medium rare then sear the outside with a hot searing fork, add a little water to the remaining juices, raise up in the pan and pour over, off to the butchers first thing tomorrow.
