Did anyone watch this Tuesday night?

This was discussed in a thread yesterday.
General consensus was favourable - and it's all gonna end in tears!
Bernard Hill & the lad that played Joe were fantastic.
Steve Coogan was irritating to start with, but was more convincing at the tragic bit than the comedy. Strange.
Can't wait til next week.

i watched it and thought it was ok...but i saw something on itv ages ago called the lakes and it was like exactly the same story line...
i am looking forward to see it next week though!!

I thoroughly enjoyed it. However can't yet see much similarity with the lakes which was a lot darker and.........had the superb John Simm in the cast.

Oh the Lakes - now that was in a class of its own.
The soundtrack, John Simm, a rather randy chef and a nymphomaniac wife if I remember correctly.

The Lakes should be brought back - it puts sunshine in the shade.

any series that gave us the following:

Detective: "So, you're wife was found at the bottom of the lake, bound and gagged and weighted down with bricks. Have you anything to say?"

Husband: "Suicide?"

should be shown again. Brilliant!
(and not at all like Sunshine IMO, although i did like it)
