bulimia, diet pills etc

I'm just wondering. Say someone has bulimia & cannot control the binge purge cycle. Would a doctor prescribe them appetite suppresants to stop the binging if they were underweight. I know underweight people shouldn't really be taking appetite suppresants but i think that has to be healthier than eating like 4 obese people and then sicking it up. Any idea? Thanks & yes i know i can't spell (well i can but im lazy)

Sorry to hear about your eating problems. Please speak to your Dr very soon as you mention you are underweight so that indicates this has been going on for some time? This will lead to other (serious) health problems if you leave it.
It is likely that a Dr would suggest you speak with a counsellor or refer you to a special Eating Disorder clinic. In almost all cases, there is an underlying issue that has triggered the bullimia/anorexia and speaking with someone who is trained in helping people with eating disorders will help you feel supported.
Do please see your Dr soon!
Best wishes,

The doctor would be unlikely to give you anti suppresants, more likely to refer you to an eating disorder clinic, you need to learn to eat food normally again, bulimia is a nasty vicious cycle that will only make you ill, rotting your teeth, making your hair fall out and giving you bowel problems to say the least, not to mention the strain on your organs.
I know someone who suffered with bulimia for 10 years and now wears a colostomy bag so I dont think the end product is worth it. when you stop starving yourself you will stop binging, if you want to maintain a healthy weight you need to eat healthy foods that give your body nutrients, take regular exercise (not necessarily in the gym, just get more active)
If you start eating heathily the end product will be bright eyes, more energy, feel great, look great , great skin. I know which I prefer!
