I am trying to obtain a longer ethernet cable. Is the Belkin RJ45 high performance 6UTP Patch Cable the same thing. Looks to have the right connections at both ends. Thanks
yes - but don't waste money on "the best"
ethernet has a max length of 100m (total length including patch leads) - so in an ordinary situation a standard cat5 lead won't cause any problem - so unless you buy a ridiculously cheap one - you won't see any performance difference
Thanks all, I will have a look in PC World. Just to let you know AC, I have now got my desktop running via an ethernet cable rather than using my laptop on wireless. There is just no comparison in the speed or connectivity, cable 100% better.
pc world it seem don't know what to charge
a 2m cable
dabs = 0.65
or maplins =5.49
and finally PC World = 24.99
a standard lead shouldn't cost the earth but here are three "respected" suppliers - I admire pc world
