er..just a thought, but why do doctors call what they do "practice" ??? should we be worried at all?? are we guinea pigs?

it's practice as in to do somthing often.

ie they treat people often. i practice my guitar, what i really do is play it often.

The word comes ultimately from the classical Greek word, 'praktike', meaning 'skill'. So, doctors -  and other 'practitioners' - are people who "exercise a skill"...in their case, curing illness.
