Setting length of time for "trip in" of voicemail on Nokia 6300

I've just downloaded a ring tone, but my voice mail "trips in" before the good bit!

How do I set the length of time before the voicemail "trips in"?

I've looked thru the user manual and can't find it.

It's years since I've changed anything of that nature, but I think it's to do with ur service provider NOT the mobile phone. Ring ur voicemail number and listen to see if there are any options about changing the outgoing message. It's when ur in that area of menu options you can change the number of rings before it "kicks in".

I've been with 02 for years and as far as I can remember that is what it was like when i did mine yonks ago

How do I find out what my voicemail number is? Do you mean the "901" that I dial to pick up my messages?

OMG!!! Just got completelyl ost in the mobile phone virtual menu options!!!! None of them sounded like what we're looking for!!!
So decided to look up on 02 for you.

I know you haven't got an iphone but yours and mine probably work just the same!!

If you daren't do that then

"or call o2 customer services and they can explain how to make the ring longer so as you can keep your voicemail on"

If you want to extend your ring tone then dial the followingf
*61*901**30#
The above code will extend you ring tone to aprox 30 seconds which is the max

settings, call, call divert, select your choice (presumably you'll want "if not available" activate, select abswer phone, then select the time (or kick in" you require. it has nothing to do with your service provider, it's all in your phone

Why don't you look at this from the other angle...

Instead if making your phone ring for longer so your ring tone gets to the good bit (meaning your leaving people hanging on the phone) why not edit the audio file and cut the beginning off so it starts at the good bit

audacity will let you edit the file

Having followed camioneur's advice, I found my "trip in2 is already set to 30 seconds. I'm now puzzled coz when I rang my mobile from my landline yesterday (to klisten to my new ringtonwe), it "tripped in" to voicemail earlier than 30 seconds!

ChuckFickens - you've gotta be good with technology to do that. But me and technology to not co-exist well! :o) Thanks, though.

Now I'm baffled. You rang your mobile from your landline to listen to the ringtone on your phone? I assume you mean your mobile was close so you could hear it ringing.

If however I've got this wrong and you've downloaded something for callers to listen to when they ring your phone then we're talking a whole different ballgame and I've no idea how to alter that.

Just to say that my mate has a "Superman" ring that I have to listen to when I call him and it "does my 'ead in" to use the language of the day!

Your first assumption is correct!

I had my mobile next to me and rang it from my landline to hear what it sounded like (coz when I listened to the ringtone prior to ordering it, it sounded a bit faint).
