Opening a full screen on Vista

If I am watching a YouTube video I cannot use the full screen mode. The screen just goes black but the sound is there. Is there a setting in Vista that needs changing? I am running Vista ona Dell laptop. My Dell desktop running XP home works fine.
Any ideas. Cheers.

Try your resolution setting it may be set too high.

I am pretty sure both computers have the same screen resoloution.
