I want to start making my own clothes does anyone know what the correct name for the adjustable mannequin type things are? I've got big boobs and hips and I a little waist and Im not quite sure what to use to make sure the clothes I make will fit properly? Anyone have any advice?

The best thing to use is yourself. Mannequin, tailors dummy or whatever, can have your measurements but not your distribution, if you see what I mean.

I had an adjustable tailors dummy, admittedly a poor one, but soon learned to fit to me and not it. Don't skip stages. Pin then tack the pieces together, then start your fittings (you may need a friend for some of it), adjust and do the final sew when it's right. You will get a proper 'made for you' fit in the end. And the top lol!
