What is important is the level of cover you are getting for your money - are they offering the same cover such as accidental damage; freezer contents; outbuildings..
Make a list of your absolute must have cover and check that the cheapest offers everything you need.

All the companies you mentioned are ok, but as Ethel says, make sure that the quotes you have been given provide the same cover. Also make sure that any adverse information you may have given to Direct Line when you took the policy out, has been given to the prospective new insurers (claims history etc). New policies are invariably cheaper as most companies give a new business discount which will disappear next year. Also consider that it can be helpful to have a good history of no claims with the same company over a period of years. In your case though the difference in premiums would indicate a move is desirable.
You should get a quote from More Th>n as they offer "free" contents cover up to 75000.
To save even more, register with Quidco (www.quidco.com) and get money back when you take out a policy. They have deals with lots of different insurers;

Certainly worth it.

the previous answer was good tho....if you ring you direct line and tell them that you have been shopping around they will probably try and give you some discount so they can save you as a customer...thats what they do at hbos anyway!!
