damp ceiling in bed room

hi can any one out there help me ,ive got damp in the bedroom ceiling above my bed ,its right by where the chimney is ,ive used waterproof sheets all over the roof ,its still damp when its raining,my mate had put a temp flashing around the chimney, its still there .any idears

Flashings do work - they just have to be done properly. The worst situation is the flashing where a downward sloping roof comes up against a chimney stack, and the water has to flow around the side and down off the roof.

thanks for that i will have to rip up the old flashing and put in a new one ,hope that will work
