Who tf cares????
George W. Bush gets $400,000 a year.

He will be paid nothing for being an ex-President, but his potential to earn money could see him rake in (another) fortune.

Since leaving office Bill Clinton (and Hilary) have made $109,000,000.

Does the Secret Service guard the ex-president & ex-first lady for free for the rest of their lives?
Previous Ex-Presidents and their wives have, since 1962 recieved a lifetimes protection by the Secret Service.

However, a change in the law in 1997 means that future ex-Presidents (Bush will be the first) will only get protection for 10 years.
Isn't the Bush clan , wealthy in their own right antway ?
Yes, Bush is already wealthy, that is why I wrote (another) fortune.

George W. Bush is very wealthy. In 1989, Bush invested $600,000 to become part owner of the Texas Rangers major league baseball team. When the team was sold in 1998, Bush earned at least $14.9 million from the deal.
In contrast, it was said Cherie Blair outearned herhusband while he was PM and he now earns more than he did when he was PM.

Disagreeing with Gromit since it was learned that es-President Harry S. Truman was prctically living in poverty, the Former Presidents Act passed in 1958 provides several retirement benefits of all of the retired Presidents... "The Former President's Act has been amended to provide increases in presidential pensions -- currently $186,600 -- a furnished office, staff salaries, office operating expenses, travel funds, and free mailing privileges..." Additionally, it provides (currently) $200,000 annually for the widows of such... plus Secret Service protection (now limited to 10 years)...
I did not know all of that Clanad. Learn something new everyday. Thanks
