Blank documents opened from memory stick

Transferring files from one computer to another using a memory stick, I can see the files in Windows Explorer but when I open the Word documents they are blank.

Transferring the same files by burning them to CD, no problem.

Strange. Is the memory stick faulty?

are you letting the flashy thing stop flashing?
what size are the files showing compared to the originals?

and are you giving them time to open - I have a couple of big documents wot I writ (far too many pictures and drawings) which takes ages (go get a tin and still wait ages!).

are you saying that nothing will ever open - or just these files that you only copied once.

try deleting and re-copying - usb sticks are slow - 10 Mb can take 5 or more mins
