After 7 years of partnership i find that it's still me that's going to the clinic on a saturday morning to pick up condoms or it's me that goes to the supermarket to buy some. I'm not overly bothered that it's always me but never once has my g/f bought any

maybe she is embarrsed about it?
Have you asked her at any time if she will do this and she has said no?
7 years ? why dont you just put them in with the weekly food shopping ?
Do you go shopping together at all?
like dustinmyeye says, just pop some in the shopping trolley....get her used to it gently.

Women are not daft.....she's on the pill or some other deterrant.....you want to condoms to use elsewhere, so you buy them!

If you dont use a condom and you're mucking around you will get caught by an infection of babies/gonorea/vds etc
^^ im slightly confused.

after 7 years just be grateful you still need them!
Next time she's off to boots for something just casually ask her to pick some up. If she's not comfortable with buying them, then I'm sure she'll make it known.

Maybe it's just one of those daft routine things.
you put the bins out, she cleans the bathroom etc etc.

i only go to the supermarket if i've run out of free ones from the clinic!!!!!!!!
well what is your problem then?
I thought you were complaining that your partner doesn't buy anyIf you are saying it should be a joint thing, then you need to discuss it with her.
Perhaps she feels that turning up at the clinic every Saturday (for a free hand-out) means that someone somewhere is keeping a note of how many times she is having sex.........this is not always a comfortable thing for a woman to acknowledge.
Unlike you who'll probably go in with a big grin.............
after 7 years why don't you stop using freebies and buy your own. Buying in bulk on the net is a lot cheaper than the supermarket and nobody needs to be embarrassed at the checkout!
D4mn! I'm so used to Quizzes and Puzzles I clicked on this link expecting some cutting-edge, up-to-the-minute logic puzzle on the lines of "who owns the zebra?" However, now I'm here.....
Our family used to have an (interesting?) variation of this problem - 'who buys the tampons?'. 50 weeks of the year this was a box or two or three (wife and two daughters) that got dropped into the supermarket trolley of a Saturday morning - only problem was I used to do the supermarket shop with my mother-in-law (long story and def. not interesting). Then we'd go on our foreign hols and they didn't seem to sell them in supermarkets and suddenly no one else in the party could speak enough French/ Spanish to buy said articles. So it would be me again trotting into the pharmacie/ farmacia waving boxes of Tampax and pretending I wanted to be able to ride and swim on my holidays!
Condoms weren't a problem, however - after three children - vasectomy!

i haven't got a problem!!! it was a thought that passed through my head the other day which i have passed onto yourselves. i will remember to keep these toughts to myself in future and ask boring questions like "how shoud i tie my laces up"
no don't do that. It makes for a lively debate. And I wasn't patronising, just asking why you havn't dicussed this with your partner. It seems a strange thing to ask strangers.....that's all.
:-)

i will ask her tonight :D
Tbh, I'm surprised that after 7 years, you are still using condoms?....If you are both faithful and have been checked out (and cleared!!) of all dieseses (sp?) then theres no need to wear them surely...providing your missus is on the pill obviously?....
What self-respecting, sexually active woman can't buy condoms? It is very immature to be embarrassed about getting condoms. If you can't be mature enough to take care of yourself, you should not be having sex. I would never presume that a man should handle the protection against disease/pregnancy for me.

bejasus! if you read my posts you will see that i have said that what i posted here was just a passing thought in my tiny little mind. my missus isn't embarrassed about anything. i'm sure she'll quite happily walk into a shop and buy some condoms, it's just she never has had to cos i've always been down the clinic getting free ones!!! it doesn't bother me though i'm sure it does for others. i was just wondering about it and thought i'd post it up here! no, she's not on the pill or other female contraception because it causes moodswings therefore we use condoms! i rest my case and will keep thoughts to myself in future.
