There are many water filter jugs available that will remove most of the chlorine by using a carbon filter. Chlorine evaporates quite quickly from an open container. Filling an ordinary jug, and letting it stand for a few hours, will get rid of a lot of the chlorine.
If possible, I would avoid drinking it altogether, especially exposing children to it. There have been an alarming number of articles written about drugs found in tap water, and the effects of chlorine.
