Adobe photoshop

Hi All

Can anyone help I'm trying to print a black and white image on Black paper, using adobe photoshop, does anyone know how to do this, all I get is a very dull image.

It seems as if the printer will not print white as it thinks the paper is white and therefor just won't print it.

Any help most appreciated.

errrr..... yeah there is no white ink in printers normally.... as you are finding out having a ink cartridge the same colour as the paper is pretty pointless.

you can get white ink cartridges for some printers... but as you haven't mentioned what printer yours is I can't mention if one is available for yours or not

it's a colour printer gestetneter professional jobbie, just wondered if the colours could make CMY could make a sort of white.

Can you not just change the image to negative and print it on white paper? It uses a lot of ink but will solve the problem.

Image > Adjustments > Invert

It's very unlikely you'll be able to print white.
White ink is a very specialised thing - most professional printers won't have it. It's only really ever used for printing to acrylics, and even then sometimes it's just a white coating that the other colours are printed onto.

You cannot make white from other inks.
CMYK inksets use subtractive colour to mix other colours from the spectrum (essentially C+M = Blue, M+Y = Red, C+Y = Green, C+M+Y = Black, but Black is used to reduce ink usuage and white is the absence of colour)
RGB light uses additive colour to mix other colours (You don't get such a simple transition from RGB->CMYK primaries, but white is R+G+B and black is the absence of colour)
