Hi i have an existing light switch on inside wall, for kitchen light.Can i put light on outside wall and wire back to existing switch? only i  think i would need different type of swich, any ideas please.

Don't think this is much of a problem as the switch is inside.  I have a 2-way light switch in my lobby at the front of the house, one operates the internal light, the other operates the outside lamp.  I have the same in my kitchen for internal/external lights.

However, I would consult an electrician for the correct wiring..!  You do need a special switch if you want to mount the switch outside.

You can do it. You'll need a two-gang switch.
