Family Fight

Long story short... i had a fight with my brother he provoked me and we had a fight, things got out of hand and i bit him, but i bit him in self defense as he was on top of me with his hand around my neck and i was fully restrained i couldn't move my arms and it was my last resort to get him off me, he is twice my size and i was starting to feel faint so i bit him out of a last resort, we continued to fight after i bit him and then it stopped, but he has now gone to the police and pressed charges, there are no witnesses to this event and it is his word against mine. me and my brother haven't spoke for years and we don't get along due to the fact i stole money from him in 2002 and he has never let this drop, but the rest of my family forgave me. this fight happened on 14th October but the police still haven't been round to question me, but they have been to the place it happened to see if anyone witnessed it but they didn't. i have previous for affray i was wondering if i will go to jail for what i did? as my brother said he will make sure i go back to jail for this, but it happened 10 days ago and the police still haven't been to see me?

Cant see you going to jail...if your brother is intent on pressing charges...it may goto court, but will probably be thrown out for wasting the courts time


Unless you really injured him....ie bit off a finger etc,??

agreed. if the police continue the case, its not likely it will even get to court. (CPS will through it out)

I think it is sad to see familys fight like this. It must be hard on all your family. Is there any chance you could apologise to him and trey to let bygones be bygones for the sake of yourself and the rest of your family. At the end of the day blood is thicker than water and families should stick together
