I have a job interview at Teaopia in Square One. It is a tea store with a vast variety of herbal and other loose leaf teas. I was wondering what type of questions they could potentially ask and how i should formulate my answers. My problem is that i get really nervous and can't come up with good responses on the spot. Because of this, i think it would be best that i prepare some idea of the questions they might ask and the respective answers i will give. I know that i do this at the risk of sounding too rehearsed, but since my nerves do get the best of me, i believe this is my best course of action. I've brainstormed some questions they might ask and they are as follows: Why do you want to work at Teaopia? Tell me about yourself? What are your strengths and weaknesses? Name a situation where you have accomplished a goal?
* These are all forms of questions i have previously had at other interviews and i never seem to answer them properly. I also don't know who to put down as references since i've never had a job before, never been in a club or team and i just moved so i have no contact with my old teachers or neighbours?
I would really appreciate it if you guys could help me form responses to the questions listed above and any relevant questions they may ask, as well as ideas about references and some general interview tips. Thank You!
1. Over 20s where they have worked before and Y they left?
2. Qualifications
3. How they would get to work on time
4. Wages & commissions
5. Customer relations (assess response)
6. Personal life, relationship bf (assessing pregnancy)
7. Discuss contract
8. References (rarely taken up....as past employers could be sued if misled).
Am an employer and try to put applicants at their ease so we can work together harmoniously....that's how I have a happy work-force.
1.Why do you want to work at Teaopia?.....Money!
2.Tell me about yourself?......Reliable & diligent.
3.What are your strengths and weaknesses?......hard-working & punctual, (weakness - tea).
4.Name a situation where you have accomplished a goal?......Deciding to work for you!
Those questions are patronising and I would not use them. They only deserve the sort of answers given.
