ok maybe i didnt work my question correctly.
ive allready got the deed. i just need to sign it in the presance of a whitness. BUT it asks me to sign it next to my old name and my new name.
my query is to i use my old signature next to my old name and my new sig next to my new name
OR
my new sig for both?

Just sign your old name and signature where indicated then your new name and signature where indicated.
As it's a deed it should need to be witnessed as well so make sure you do it in the presence of a witness who should be over 18 and independant, ie not a relative.
Make sure you keep the original safe and have a number of copies you can use.
Did you use solicitors? If so, they should be able to give you some copies certified by them as a true copy of the original which may cut down the need for people to see the original.

Think of it as an additional source of proof as to your old and new signatures so you can indicate your change in signature as well as your change of name.
You will obviously have signed official things in your own name until now and will use a new signature from now so good to have something official evidencing the change for official purposes, in case it's queried or you sign in your old name by mistake etc...
Useful for any potential fraud as well.

Aww good :)
I come across it quite a bit in my job with name changes, though I have to admit, the most confusing ones are ones when people go by other names but haven't changed them, you find it a lot in the oriental communities where they have multiple different versions of their names which are used for different things.
I'm sure if you needed additional certified copies then you could pop and see a local solicitors taking the original and some ID (best to ring first for their requirements and price).
I wouldn't charge any more than a simple swear of a stat dec which is usually 5.00.
Some places will require an original though so the best way is to have it take in by hand or sent and returned recorded delivery.
Like any other deed, the best storage is somewhere fireproof.
