sore mouth

I have a very painful sore patch on the roof of my mouth. It cannot be seen but feels very much like a large ulcer. It is causing me to not eat (and believe me, that takes a lot!) as it is so painful. Does anyone have any ideas as to what this is or what can treat it? Thanks.

Maybe you've scratched or burnt the roof of your mouth?  I scratched my mouth once but not badly or so I thought until a huge blood blister formed. Yuk! 

Try rinsing with some warm salty water every few hours. Any mouth sores which don't heal within a few days should be checked out by a doctor.

Have you tried strawberry angel delight on it? Not in it's powder form though!

Ask a pharmacist at your local chemists, if you are unwilling to see a doctor, they are usually spot on. If they suggest you see a doctor then please do so as soon as you can.

Try dissolvong aspirin in a glass of water and swooshing it around your mouth a few times a day.

It could be thrush, which is a fungal infection. Google THRUSH for details of symptoms and causes. Can be treated with a prescription anti-fungicide.

Try swishing with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water.
