Condemned Criminal Origins for The X-BOX 360 and a possible bug?

I'm on (I think) the final boss, where there's a health kit in front of me, a pipe on the left and a plank of wood on the right, the problem is, I try to pick up one of the weapons by pressing the A button as usual but for some I can't could this be a possible bug?
