It snowed in this same week in 1955

i know this because I was born that week and I have a letter my great grandmother , Blanche Trafford, sent to my Mum, saying that she was sorry she couldn't make it up the Cragg Road to see the new baby as the snow was drifted too deep, but she would try to get up in a few days
thing is:
1) My great grandmother was blind in one eye from a steam train spark during a train journey in 1891.
2) She was 76 years old when I was born.
She had been knitting for months and when she did finally make it up to the farm above Mytholm, she came on the bus and brought a bag full of tiny knitted bonnets and bootees.
Wasn't that amazing? It was a half mile up hill walk to the farm across sloping fields, but she made it!!
Anyway, it snowed today in Blackpool whilst i was visiting the new store and lots of people said it was early for snow, so i was just reminded of the story.!!!!!
ramblings over!

I think it was just very autumnal this time in 1978.
I was due around now but refusing to budge. We have a tree in the front garden at home and most of the leaves had fallen off.
They said that when the last leaf fell off I'd be born so my godfather to be went out and took the last ones down :)
