Law and internet discussion forums?
6 Answers
Hi i desperatly need some advice on behalf of my friend. She joined an internet discussion forum and had a falling out with the admins who run it (dont know what over)..she asked for her account on the forum to be deleted and it was. Now the admins of the forum have posted a subject on why she decided to leave and that she was aggressive etc.
As she is no longer a member she cannot post to defend herself and she feels mortified to think that people will think badly off her as she says she has done nothing wrong. Its also not explained in the info provided by the admins.
What rights does she have a) to reply b) to have it removed etc
Any help would be great. She's terribly upset

well for a start you might want to post this in law.... the fact it's an Internet site makes no difference, if it's libellous it libellous regardless if it's on a screen or a bit of paper.
But I would assume she joined the site anonymously, so why is she upset that people that she doesn't know and don't know her think bad of her.
