There is a poll on the side of this site that asks "can you be a part time vegetarian".
Seeing it is raining here I clicked 'no' and was astonished to learn that about 50% of the answers were yes!
How is it possible to be a part time vegetarian?
Am I missing something?

Another friend tells me that she is a veggie but is able to eat fish.... doh !!!!!
I guess a part-time vegetarian is a bit like being slightly pregnant, or almost damp .... (I am alluding to your cool response being *no* because it was raining hehehe......)
I do get a lot of people telling me that they are *nearly vegetarian* or *almost vegetarian* and I am sort of left wondering..... which bits ????

You could look at it this way...being a part-time veggie is better than being a full-time meat-eater. At least they are going in the right direction.I am not a veggie...tho I eat little or no red meat......I did gain a far greater appreciation for vegeterianism when I cooked in a veggie cafe. It would not hurt anyone to cut down on their meat consumption. So being a part-timer can't be a bad thing.
I have completely vegetarian meals quite often using frozen (and microwaveable!) veggie burgers and sausages from Sainsbury/ASDA.
Holland and Barrett also stock an interesting range of flavoured veggie sausages (which are also microwaveable).
Add a liberal dose of HP sauce and Colman's hot yellow mustard and it's just like your eating the real meaty thing.

Since our local climate changed (thousands of years ago) to its present form, very cold winters, Veggies would not be here if their ancestors had relied on nuts, vegetables & berries. When one has to keep one`s calorific count up to survive harsh winters, meat or fish is essential to survive. Ask any Eskimo! Supermarkets are a very recent luxury that allow people to choose their diet.
