Hi, how do you feel about halloween, do you thing its like a leagalised mugging like mentioned on the tv, they knock on your door and demand money or sweets or you get something unexpected happen??
Unfortunately, I don't have a front door at street level, so I don't get trick or treated by the local kids.
=0(
Still, when I go out tonight, I'll take a load of "treats" in case we pass any kids in costumes (although down in the town, they'll be more likely to ask for drugs).
I used to enjoy halloween when my kids were little as we always had a party at our house for friends which kept them off the streets as I dont agree with the knocking on strangers doors. I got so fed up with opening the door from about 4pm with the younger ones to 9pm with older kids and you are frightened not to answer or give them something. So I have arranged to work tonight so the house will be in darkness till 10pm and the gate firmly locked !
Im not against people enjoying themselves if they are not bothering others.
Living in the school house, we are constantly tricked and treated as most of the kids know my hubby, the caretaker!!!
But I have been shocked at the young age these kids have been and are out on the streets so late at night with no adult present.
Last year my hubby actually called the police, as one was a four year old in a group of not much older kids and we were in bed when they knocked, that's how late it was!!!
Hi tamirra , nice to meet you hun , I am expecting a number of knocks at the door tonight and have got bags of sweets at the ready , some years are busier than others but I usually get a constant flow of little ones between 5 and 7 with slightly older children up til 9 . Some of the little ones costumes are so good , and they always have parents with them I'm pleased to see . xxx
I get home from work, shut the front door, all lights out, play a scary pc game (Scratches) on low volume, and ignore the front door knocker. I disapprove of the occasion. If you get the wrong bunch it does indeed become legalised mugging.
