reporting sick emails

Hi, i recieved a really sick email plus pictures today is there anywhere i can report it?

nowhere worthwhile unless it was sick as in illegal then the police.

Yes there is. Look at the email address of the sender and report it to the postmaster. So if came from [email protected] forward it to [email protected]

Ethel, you should know the "apparent" reply address is probably not where it came from at all.

and even if it is a genuine address or you track it back to a genuine address using the headers unless it is actually illegal then the ISP are powerless to do anything.

if it originated from a company account then they may be interested to know that a member of staff are using their mail account for such things and may act on it.

But as there are millions of "offensive" or "sick" mails going round the world every day generally if it is reported no action will be taken unless the content is illegal in anyway.

I think its sick its a japanese email and its off them disecting a tiny baby and then eating him, is this sick?

Not powerless - the ISP may not initiate criminal proceedings if the content does not constitute a specific offence, however it is likely to be in breach of the ISP's own conditions of use for that account, which they can choose to terminate.

Set up a new e-mail address. These spammers have got got current address and so other sick e-mails are likely to follow.
