Hi FlopsyMopsy I was going to recommend Brewers (the book). I also use Nigel Rees's book called "A word in your shell like. We won it from a Lovatt's crossword. I prefer books to web.
Are you friends with catron now.? I couldn't find your question . our internet's playing up. None yesterday.

Thankyou to you both. I will have a look; I do prefer books but the only one I have in this genre is proverbs. I never fell out with Catron. I asked for the thread to be closed as it was getting way out of hand, and the question was banned. Your match will surely be better than mine, I am off to watch a match at Tetford, on a very windy sloping pitch in the middle of the Lincolnshire Wolds and there is no dugout, no shelter, nothing; so its on with the thermals.
My match is on sky sports! I support Arsenal and Portsmouth but watch all good football. I was off to my chair!!
I didn't know you could get threads closed!

Smouse, thank you very much for those sites, I will have a look and see if I can solve a few more, and add them to my favourites for future reference.

Tallulah, I thought you were going to be braving the elements! I assume AB was watching the thread and after 43 posts, I asked that it be closed as I was disassociating myself with it. When I looked later, it had been banned.
