Double glazed windows-condensation
Please could someone help?! I moved to this property approx 7 years ago and had my windows replaced with upvc double glazing. All windows are still fine except for my bedroom window. I decorated my bedroom in the Spring and at some point after that, I can't exactly pin point when I noticed a little black mould growing around the lower part of the frame and window board which I haven't had before. It is getting a little worse but also lately my windows in this room only are covered in condensation each morning. Admittedly I sleep with the windows closed but always have done but it's onlythis Autumn I have had condensation. The sealed units themselves are not misted up inside. Many thanks for any advice.

Put it on, leave it for a few minutes then wash it off. If it doesn't get it all off do it again. If you get to it before it gets too bad it usually gets rid of it. As for the condensation on the windows, the only way to stop it is to have the window open even it's only a little bit. My double glazed units have a very small vent at the top which helps stop some of the condensation. Thse can be closed if needed in very cold weather. By the way it is usually the bedroom windows that are affected by this.
Hi dispenser, you may find if your in UK that it's to do with the wet summer we have had this year. Everything seems wetter than usual. The stuff I said to put on sometimes doesn't look like it has worked properly but by the next day the mould seems to have vanished. Worth a try anyway as it's not expensive. Cheaper than decorating again LOL.
