I have bought a new hearing aid cost over 1,000. The gentleman who sold it to me told me it would be great but after living with a hearing aid from NHS the new hearing aid is not living to my expectations. I do have 30 days to make up my mind but I have paid him. If I tell him that it does not suit me I am going to be embarrassed taking the money back off him. He is a nice guy and will try everything to please me. I actually feel I am deafer with it (if there is such a word) my 30 days will be up next week. Also just like to mention am taking headaches with it. Any help out there!!!!
You have to pluck up courage and tell him you dont want it. Otherwise you are just chucking away a grand for a product that not only doesnt work, but is actually worse than the one you got from the NHS, and its giving you headaches to boot.
Its his job to be nice, but that shouldn't stand in your way
thanks for your answers - but keep them coming until I get the nerve to tell him that it does not suit me. He actually told me the first day when I got it to get it insured - so he was sure that I would be keeping it even tho there is a 30 day thingmajig.
Black dog and rosetta are right, take it back and retrieve your cash.
i did a similar thing with some variefocal specs, just couldn't get on with them so took em back.
My mum had one of the new digital hearing aids from the NHS but couldn't get on with it at all. She found that it over amplified background noise, so her old one was better for her. Like you she had great expectations of the new one and was very disappointed.
At the end of the day you have to decide if you can afford to throw away a grand on a product that doesn't work for you.
dizzeerascal what category should I be in - I could post this
also terambulan would that be a lawful thing to do - send back registered post -then I would not face him. I have to say he did he would take a long time to get it tuned and tuned and tuned but I think this where you would be had because the 30 days would be up. God I am sh ng myself
sorry made mistake there in that last post - he told me it could take months to finally get there with it but I know in my heart it wont suit as I am so profoundly deaf and just get by with a bit of amplification I guess ie NHS
