motor insurance

i was stopped for no insurance, i was an additional driver on the policy before it ran out which was a day before i got stopped, Is there any way i could appeal as i did not know I was not covered as I am not the main policy holder and was not notified, my father was and coincidently accepted it to be his fault, the insurance was renewed the following morning, can anyone help me

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.check with the insurance company.some companies still give you cover for 14days after it has expired as long as you renew the insurance .thefore allthough the certificate date had run out you may still have been covered.if this is the case the you cant be done for driving without insurance.I once got stopped many years ago and my insurance had run out by 2 days but was still covered for 14 days if i renewed the insurance and i was not done by the police for driving withouy insurance as i was still covered.

But - and I mean this kindly, honestly - do you really want to hang about until someone comes on and tells you what you want to hear, even if it's worng? Really sorry but you seem to be in trouble, and no amount of posting will change that. You could try the CAB but they'll give you the info that Ethel did.
