It used to be so funny sometimes - you'd see a telephonist shouting at the subscriber, and getting louder and louder - not realising their spout had dropped off.
We had some fun times in the telephone exchange. Supervisors kept a close eye on you to make sure you got on with your work, but we still managed to have some laughs.
