12 Answers
I am 10 weeks Pregnant + on Thursday afternoon after goin to the toilet, i notuced a Beige/Brown coloured Discharge. On Friday morning after goin to the toilet, after Wiping Myself (Sorry to be graphic) there was A Brown Colour. In the afternoon there was bright red blood! i went to A + E (after phoning Antenatal, they told me to go there) + they said they couldnt do a Scan, as there was no one to do one! They examined me + i have no pain, my urine was clear + they basically said there was not alot they could do + if the bleeding gets heavy or i get pain to go straight back! Today i still have blood when i wipe + some on the pad. i have a Scan Tuesday. Has anyone else experienced this or got any advice?? i am really scared, i just know its probably a Miscarriage!!

As hard as it is I would just follow their advice and unless you are in any pain or the bleeding does get heavy try and hang on until Tuesday . You could always phone NHS Direct they may be able to offer further advice for you. I think if you panic and go back to A&E they will only say the same thing and send you home. It must be horrible waiting to see what happens but like I saif it might not be the worst situation. My friend is now 22 weeks pregnant and she was bleeding more that what you have mentioned and she was fine. I'm sure there is other reasons for bleeding in pregnancy, some people still have periods it could be something as simple as that. Try not to get too stressed and do something enjoyable this weekend to take your mind off it. Take care and let us know how you get on Tuesday xxx.
Try not worry too much as this happened to my friend during her pregnancy and they told her it could just be part of a period and her baby was fine. If you are worried hun, go back up there and tell them you want a scan or a heartbeat check straight away! If they tell you there is nobody to do it- tell them you want it in writing and signed by the person who told you this. I can almost guarantee they will be scanning you within minuets!!

Try to keep calm is important as well. Some women bleed in the first few months of pregnancy and go on to have a healthy baby. Just try and rest and relax as much as possible and if it gets any heavier ring your Dr or go to A + E, or ring nhs direct on 08454647if it runs in your area for more advice and help. Good luck with your pregnancy.
Kymrobbo, it may not necessarily be a miscarriage. I had the same problem during early pregnancy and I went on to have a beautiful baby girl.
You need to get back in touch with your antenatal clinic to tell them what you were told at A&E and to let them know that you still have the same problem. Tell them you need to know NOW that your baby is still safe and your mind will not be at rest until you have been properly checked. Make an appointment with your GP too. He/she may be able to put your mind at rest or even fast track you to a hospital check if necessary.

Thankyou very much for all your support. But just to let you know, the bleeding did result in a Miscarriage last night. It all came away at home. i was in A + E till 4 am bein checked over + have a Scan in the morning to make sure everything is clear.... Hopefully i can try for another baby soon + everything will be ok next time. My first pregnancy was perfect.... I Do believe that Miscacarriages happen for a reason + take comfort from this. x x
I was 8 weeks pregnant with gastroenteritis I had brown discharge which changed to red overnight. Its called spotting...if there is no pain it's not a miscarriage. Thats why they told you if you get pain go straight back. I know it's easy to say but try not to worry. I had the same experience and worried myself silly after doing I.V.F. to get pregnant in the first place. But the result of this bleeding is my 11 year old daughter asleep in bed now as I type this!
I had the same experience hunni, during my pregnancy with my little girl i bled alot and became very certain i had lost her, i was so angry with the hospital for not providing me with a scan and so i went on for weeks worrying about it, with also isnt good for the baby. Then i had my final scan and was absolutely petrified. However my baby was fine and the bleeding is rare but can happen to anyone.
The very same thing happened to me, at 3 mths just after we told people. it turned out to be a non neclis pregancy basicly there was a sack a cord and a placenta but no baby.
the midwife told me 'not to be sad a nature was doing her job, and if i thought about, when nature mixes a million genes together to make a baby something will go wrong somtimes,
I started to miscarry on the saturday and i was getting married on the tuesday.
I was gutted
but then i got pregant the very next month, and now we have have Fin who is 14 months old.
so dont be sad. Though you wont be able to help it.
and please belive me when i say it is nothing you have done, it just nature
